Marsh Fork Elementary School makes National News TONIGHT!!

YES!!!

Spread the word–Tune in to ABC World News Tonight this evening and then, later tonight, check out ABC’s Nightline for segments on citizen response to the Massey Energy coal silo, coal prep plant and coal sludge dam that loom over Marsh Fork Elementary in Raleigh County, W.Va. (Note–the segment could possibly be bumped if there’s some “breaking news”.) In West Virginia, World News Tonight airs at 6:30 p.m. and Nightline airs at 11 p.m.

Because the coal company and the state seem to be ignoring the dangers to Marsh Fork students, Coal River residents created the Pennies of the Promise campaign. Click here to see Sludge Safety Project’s coverage of the press conference that launched the campaign, which aims to collect enough pennies in order to build a new school for Marsh Fork school kids. The campaign needs your pennies!

We covered Marsh Fork Elementary and Pennies of Promise this week, and will keep you up to date on their actions.
