Edwards Promises “Carbon Neutral” Campaign

Former NC Senator and Democratic Presidential hopeful John Edwards has followed Tom Vilsack’s lead in anouncing that he will be running a “carbon-neutral” campaign to help fight global warming. And thats awesome.

He will offset the carbon emissions emitted by his and his staff’s campaign travel and the energy used in his campaign headquarters and field offices.

Edwards will work with NativeEnergy to calculate the carbon impact of his campaign activities and purchase carbon offsets. Governor Tom Vilsack – the first presidential candidate to plan a carbon neutral campaign – also worked with NativeEnergy.

Note that Edwards will be the first to implement such a campaign, as Vilsack has dropped out. Read more about the Edwards campaign plans here.
